There’s a lot of incentive to head to the theater to watch premieres on the year 2026. Coming up with some of the most anticipated titles in a decade. Here are some of the films you should keep on your radar:

For Marvel fans, Robert Downey Jr. shocks the world by returning as Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday. Seeing RDJ playing a character other than Iron Man, has some wondering why Doom was not casted by a new actor. Wether this was a lazy casting choice, or perhaps an evil variant of Iron Man?! We shall see how the story unfolds on December 18.

Also releasing on December 18, in the Sci-Fi category, Denis Villeneuve concludes his journey with Dune: Part Three. The film adapts Dune Messiah, the second book in Frank Herbert’s series, which serves as the concluding chapter for Paul Atreides’ arc, exploring his evolution from hero to a more complex, tragic figure.

An animated film with beloved characters Woody and Buzz, returns this year on June 19. This time they face the digital age in Toy Story 5. The film explores the intersection of classic play and modern technology, highlighting how screens have changed childhood.

This year, the big screen will finally get its first Star Wars film after years of absence with The Mandalorian and Grogu on May 22. Directed by Jon Favreau, this film continues the journey of Din Djarin and his apprentice, aiming to reassert the franchise’s cinematic presence following years of Disney+ streaming exclusive content.

Finally, for films with high-profile directors, we have Steven Spielberg’s next UFO thriller Disclosure Day, scheduled for release on June 12. Starring Emily Blunt, Josh O’Connor, and Colin Firth. The film explores the global chaos following the revelation of alien life, marking Spielberg’s return to the alien genre since 2005’s War of the Worlds.
